The poets write eloquently about love, and beautiful music through the ages speaks to love in all its forms and stages. Among the many blessings a person can receive in life, perhaps the most important is enduring love, love that surrounds shared joy in happy times and remains unshaken when challenges arise.
A wedding anniversary measured in decades deserves celebration beyond the thoughtful gratitude appropriate to every day of life. And, when the anniversary occurs on a day near the annual recognition of a day of love, Valentine’s Day, what could be a more perfect way to honor the loving couple than through the unspoken message of a beautiful, artfully composed work of floral art.
Of course, there is a story behind each of my creations. “Together” is a joyful gift from a daughter to her parents on their 40th (Ruby) wedding anniversary, a couple of weeks before Valentine’s Day. The design incorporates ruby red roses with coral roses, blossoms that bloom with thorns, just like the beautiful but sometimes thorny path a loving couple shares together.
The shape of the arrangement is spherical. There are no stops or ends along the sphere. It continues on whether the direction is up, down, or along a level path, eternal, like deep and abiding love.
The central blossom, a fresh deep pink Queen Protea, often represents the power to survive practically anything. Here, it symbolizes the unique love of this couple and the personal reasons they each were drawn to the other many years ago. This bold and beautiful central flower speaks to their taking that first step together toward eternal love and still, after decades of a shared life, continuing, continuing as partners, as a team, as unique individuals bonded as two together, forever.
This gift was presented by the anniversary couple’s daughter and her partner, another couple creating their own story as love continues. . .
